AIG allowed to access $20 bn capital from arms

New York Governor David Paterson has announced a multi-billion dollar plan to stabilise AIG , reports CNBC-TV18. The company has received permission to access USD 20 billion of capital from subsidiaries.

He said AIG's problem is a reminder that Wall Street's problems are far from over. "About 30,000 lay-offs on Wall Street is a worst case scenario."
