AI board to propose slew of changes for ailing Maharaja
CNBC-TV18 learns that the new directors would propose structural changes for the ailing Maharaja. It would also suggest moving outsources manpower off rolls along with hiking frequency of profitable international routes for the airlines, sources inform.
Stepping up its efforts to save ailing national carrier Air India, the government, earlier this month had approved four part-time directors on the airline's board. CNBC-TV18 had reported earlier that Anand Mahindra, Amit Mitra, Fali H Major and Harsh Neotia would stay on the board for three years.
The newly constituted board may now be discussing some important structural changes for the ailing Maharaja, reports CNBC-TV18's Mehak Kasbekar. This may include extensive brand building and re-organizing of man power along with hiking frequency of profitable international routes for the airlines, sources inform.
Further the board would also recommend extensive brand-building exercises and retain staff with re-organising manpower.
The directors would re-look at starting low-cost model as well, sources close to the development said.
