ACC, Ambuja, UltraTech report higher sales in December

Leading cement companies like ACC, Ambuja Cement and UltraTech have reported increase in production of between seven and 11% in December.

Leading cement companies like ACC , Ambuja Cement and UltraTech have reported increase in production of between seven and 11% in December.

Production at Aditya Birla Group's UltraTech Cement grew 10.8% to 3.77 million tonne (mt), ACC reported a growth of 6.28% to 2.03 mt while for Ambuja it was 1.91 mt, up 6.81% in December, the companies said in separate statements.

Meanwhile, UltraTech's despatches for the month grew to 3.62 mt, up 10.5%, while for ACC and Ambuja it was 8.85% and 5.75% respectively to 2.09 mt and 1.82 mt.

For the calendar year 2011, production of ACC grew to 23.66 mt from 21.21 mt, while Ambuja's grew to 20.96 mt from 20.12 mt during the same period. Cement despatches of ACC and Ambuja for the period grew to 20.95 mt and 23.68 mt from 20.12 mt and 21.17 mt respectively.
