ACC, Ambuja report growth in April cement production

During the corresponding month last year, the output of ACC and Ambuja stood at 2.06 MT and 1.81 MT, respectively, the two companies said in separate releases.

During the month under review, dispatches of ACC grew to 2.07 MT as compared to 2.05 MT in the same period previous year while those for Ambuja stood at 1.85 MT as against 1.82MT in April last year.

For the January-April period this year, ACC's production stood at 8.87 MT as against 8.28 MT in the same period in 2011. Its dispatches for the period grew to 8.79 MT
from 8.27 MT in the year-ago period

In case of Ambuja, the cement production for the four- month period grew to 8 MT as against 7.4 MT in Jan-April 2011. Ambuja's dispatches for the period stood at 7.95 MT as against 7.37 MT in the previous year.
