Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC) 9X, launched just over five months back by INX Media, the flagship company of the INX Network, continues to grow week on week. It is now the Number 3 Hindi GEC in the country across both demographics – C&S 15-24 and C&S 4+, per aMap data released for Week 17 of 2008 in the West, North and East.
In the C&S 15-24 years audience segment, 9X is the Number 3 Hindi GEC with 92 GRPs. The GRPs for all the channels in this segment are: Star Plus (298 GRPs), Zee (173 GRPs), 9X (92 GRPs), NDTV Imagine (81 GRPs), Star One (70 GRPs), Sony (61 GRPs) and Sahara One (56 GRPs).
INX Media is firmly on course with its plans for 9X, which has grown steadily week on week, to reach the Number 3 position amongst Hindi GECs in both, the C&S4+ and the 15-24 yrs segments. From Monday, the 28th of April, 9X will add another half hour of original prime time programming with Jai Maa Vaishnodevi.
9x, which has had one of the most successful C&S TV channel launches in the recent past, has grown steadily in ratings week on week and is firmly on course in its quest for industry leadership.
The channel, which has achieved these excellent ratings with just two-and-a-half hours of weekday primetime programming, can look forward to better ratings as it will fill up two more hours of original prime time programming in the next five months.
In fact, starting Monday the 28th of April, 9X will add another half hour of prime time programming Mondays to Thursdays at 8 pm, as it ventures into devotional programming with Jai Maa Vaishnodevi, a series of intense divinity and devotion through the story of one of India’s most revered Goddesses, Mata Vaishno Devi. The program is being produced by veteran Dheeraj Kumar’s Creative Eye Productions.
Considering that there is another one and a half hours of prime time programming still to come along with more weekend programming and several mega blockbuster Hindi movies lined up, the team at 9X is confident of maintaining the channel’s healthy growth.
