Essar Group has approached the Supreme Court against its trial before the Special CBI Court in 2G case.
Essar pleaded before the apex court that the trial be conducted before a magistrate as the company and its officials have not been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Meanwhile, the CBI has withdrawn from the apex court application seeking clarification over proceedings against the Essar Group.
The Supreme Court will hear Essar's plea on February 17.
