Ajay Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director, Arshiya International

Ajay Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director, Arshiya International Ltd. feels that the positive out of the Railway Budget today is that the railways have continued with the policy of attracting private sector. "It is also expected that the private sector will respond but the railways should not dilute their policy of opening up because any investment in this sector is long term and sizeable," he said.

Mittal added, "The policy has been announced in various sectors where the private sector is expected to invest. However, the actual schemes should be notified at the earliest so that response can come quickly. "An important factor which was a catalyst in initiating the policy was the need for increasing availability of rolling stock for container traffic as also increasing connectivity of ports by rail and encouraging more ICD's in hinterlands."

Arshiya has recently secured in principle approval for running pan India railway freight trains.
