Markets may open on positive note: Sharekhan

According to a report by Sharekhan, the Indian markets may begin the first trading day of the week in the green zone tracking positive signals from global markets. SGX Nifty is also trading 7.50 points higher.

On Friday (February 22, 2013), Sensex closed at 19317.01, down by 8.35 points and the Nifty fell by 1.95 points to settle at 5850.

Asian stocks are trading higher today (February 25, 2013), with the regional benchmark index extending last week’s advance, as Japanese shares gained on speculation the next Bank of Japan governor will deploy aggressive monetary easing.

European market posted its first weekly gain in four weeks on Friday (February 22, 2013), as a surprisingly upbeat reading on Germany's business climate fueled investors' risk appetite, with Italian elections over the weekend also in the limelight.

US stocks rallied on Friday after better-than-expected results from personal-computer maker Hewlett-Packard Co. and an upbeat report on German business confidence.
