Mangal Keshav`s view on Chilli, Jeera, Pepper, Turmeric

Mangal Keshav has come out with its report on Chilli, Jeera, Pepper, Cardamom, Soyabean, Edible oils, Guar seed, mustard seed, Mentha oil.

Average arrivals of chilli crop stood around 40,000-45,000 bags last week. Fresh arrivals from farmers were reported in small quantity at Guntur market. Spot rates were offered in the range of Rs 5,900-Rs 6,500 per quintal, based on crop quality.

Inflow of jeera crop stood ~3,500-4,000 bags while trades were unchanged around 5,000 bags at auction held at Unjha market. Spot rates for exchange quality crop stood in the range of Rs 150- Rs 152 per kg, as per local traders.

Spot rates of pepper garbled were unchanged at Rs 315 per kg and that of un-garbled was steady at Rs 30 per kg. Arrivals declined to 6 tons and trades too were down at 52 tons at Kochi market.

Indian MG-1 ASTA grade pepper parity rate stood around $6,400 per ton (c&f) Europe and around $6,700 per ton c&f for US, as per market reports.

Turmeric arrivals: unchanged at ~5,000 bags at Nizamabad market and about 10,000 bags at mandis of Erode on Friday. Spot rates for exchange quality crop stood steady around Rs 38- Rs 42 per kg while that of premium quality crop stood around Rs 42-Rs 46 per kg, as per local traders.

Average price of small cardamom increased to Rs 627.8 per kg, while the maximum price offered was up at Rs 934.5 per kg, as per spice board. Total inflow of small cardamom crop declined to 90.5 tons from which about 90.4 tons were sold at KCPMC auctions held at Thakkady.

Inflow of soya bean crop stood around 2-2.3lakh bags, which includes about 1-1.1lakh bags across MP market and about 50,000-55,000 bags across mandis of Maharashtra & Rajasthan respectively, as per local traders.

Spot rates of offered by planters were down at Rs 24.3-Rs 24.6 per kg while rates offered at mandis of Indore declined below at Rs 24 per kg., as per local traders.

Spot rates of Soya bean seed Indore (ex-mandi) closed at Rs 23.5 per kg while that of Mustard seed Rajasthan closed at Rs 32.48 per kg, as per Sea of India.

Guar seed arrivals declined to 5,421 quintals, while the average of the closing spot rates was up at Rs 11,570.8 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan.

Inflow of mustard seed crop increased to 5,267 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were up at Rs 2,864.5 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan.

Mentha oil futures witnessed heavy selling in last couple of session, as winter demand eased from industrial buyers while exporters too stayed away due to current higher prices. Spot rates were steady around Rs 1,700 per kg.
