At 7: 42 am (IST), Asian markets were trading firm. Hang Seng was up 0.11%, Nikkei was up 0.11%, Straits Times rose 0.30% and Taiwan Weighted was up 0.22%.
Japan's Nikkei was up 0.11% or 9.98 points at 9,043.27. Singapore's Straits Times rose 0.30% or 8.98 points at 3,049.05. South Korea's Seoul Composite was up 0.10% or 1.85 points at 1,918.18. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted added 0.22% or 16.23 points at 7,378.17. China's Shanghai Composite was down 0.54% or 11.12 points at 2,062.03.
