Asian mkts nosedive on free fall in US; Shanghai dips 2%

Asian markets were witnessing huge selling pressure post free-fall in US markets on job sector worries and European jitters. Shanghai Composite was trading at 2,934.65, down 60.65 points or 2.02%.

Hang Seng was trading at 19,763.05, down 578.59 points or 2.84% and Jakarta Composite was at 2,541.22, down 51.99 points or 2.01%.

Japan's Nikkei was trading at 10,062.65, down 293.33 points or 2.83% and Straits Times was at 2,690.57, down 54.41 points or 1.98%.

Seoul Composite was trading at 1,565.14, down 51.28 points or 3.17% and Taiwan Weighted was at 7,285.08, down 256.96 points or 3.41%.
