Asian markets trading lower; Hang Seng, Straits Times down

At 7: 40 am (IST), Asian markets were trading lower. China's Shanghai Composite was down 0.22% or 4.73 points at 2,118.63.


Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.51% or 100.76 points at 19,719.62.


Japan's Nikkei was up 0.61% or 52.91 points at 8,694.76.


Singapore's Straits Times was down 0.21% or 6.39 points at 3,044.69.


South Korea's Seoul Composite was flat at 1,878.76.


Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted shut today.
