Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down 0.45% or 87.85 points at 19,308.51. Japan's Nikkei slipped 0.50% or 43.85 points at 8,813.88. Singapore's Straits Times shed 0.39% or 11.52 points at 2,953.10. South Korea's Seoul Composite fell 0.54% or 9.88 points at 1,819.57. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted was down 0.29% or 20.76 points at 7,230.59.
