Asian markets lacklustre amid weak global data, EU woes

At 8:19 hours IST, Asian markets were lacklustre in trade on Friday. Chinese Shanghai Composite went down 1.66 points to 2,349.32 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 67.42 points to 18,598.98

At 8:19 hours IST, Asian markets were lacklustre in trade on Friday. Chinese Shanghai Composite went down 1.66 points to 2,349.32 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 67.42 points to 18,598.98.


Weak global data and European Union's fiscal concerns weighed on markets.

Singapore's Straits Times Index slipped 9.45 points to 2,770.08 and Taiwan Weighted declined 27.42 points to 7,097.47.


However, Japan's Nikkei 225 Average was up 0.27 points at 8,563.65 and South Korea's Kospi Composite Index went up 6.27 points to 1,820.74.
