Asian markets ended mixed. Hong Kong's Hang Seng declined 2.28% or 426.14 points at 18,253.39.

Singapore's Straits Times slipped 2.61% or 62.65 points at 2,333.70.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted fell 3.34% or 228.72 points at 6,628.02.

However, China's Shanghai Composite gained 0.52% or 14.445 points at 2,768.336.

Japan's Nikkei rose 1% or 97.83 points at 9,865.84.

South Korea's Seoul Composite was flat at 1,393.3.
