Hong Kong's Hang Seng advanced 2.46% or 404.49 points at 16,834.57.

Singapore's Straits Times surged 5.05% or 104.68 points at 2,179.03.

Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted rose 2.93% or 186.76 points at 6,566.70.

However, South Korea's Seoul Composite declined 0.32% or 4.47 points at 1,393.45.
