Japan's Nikkei slipped 1.16% or 100.02 points at 8,553.16. Singapore's Straits Times fell 0.29% or 8.83 points at 3,027.36. South Korea's Seoul Composite was down 0.43% or 7.95 points at 1,861.45. Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted was down 0.62% or 45.03 points at 7,222.93. China's Shanghai Composite was up 0.22% or 4.64 points at 2,115.83.
