VE Commercial Vehicles, a 50-50 joint venture between Eicher Motors and the Volvo Group, sold 3,708 units in January, up just 5% year-on-year, as growth in heavy duty trucks segment was offset by fall in light truck sales.

Eicher Motors will invest over Rs 900 crore over the next 2-3 years towards various expansion plans, including a new medium duty engine plant in joint venture with Swedens Volvo Group and a new manufacturing plant near Chennai for its Royal Enfield motorcycles.
