Heavy monsoon rains and landslides wreaked havoc in the hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and flooded parts of Haryana on June 16 and 17, leaving close to 1,000 people dead. The disaster affected power generation at many hydel plants in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Let's also remember Uttarakhand. And Muzaffarnagar, which happened just a month ago. Assam happened last year. Just as one swallow does not a summer make, one success does not constitute a turnaround in Indian governance and attitudes to disaster management, whether the disasters are man-made or the result of nature's pent-up fury.

Infotech Enterprises today made a contribution of Rs 40 lakh towards the Chief Ministers relief fund. Mr BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman and MD, Infotech Enterprises met Mr Kiran Kumar Reddys to present the cheque to aid the task of rebuilding and reconstruction in the disaster-struck state of Uttarakhand.
