Equity funds ended in a positive terrain in yesterdays volatile trading session. The BSE benchmark gained 81.63 points or 0.48%, to close at 16,912.71 while the NSE benchmark closed at 5,114.15, up 27.30 points or 0.54%.

The equity funds delivered decent performance with very few declines registered in previous trading session. In the market space, the BSE rose 56.44 points, to close at 17,150.95 while the NSE went up 18.75 points to end at 5,226.20.

Equity funds advanced as markets continued with its positive rally. The BSE benchmark rose 119.27 points or 0.68%, to close at 17,597.42. Meanwhile, the NSE benchmark was up 40.60 points at 5,358.50.

Equity funds ends in a negative terrain as Benchmark lost around 200 points on the event of UP election result. The BSE benchmark fell 189.58 points or 1.09%, to close at 17,173.29. Meanwhile, the NSE closed 57.95 points down at 5,222.40.

Equity funds couldnt sustain its two days of gaining streak and finally succumb under market pressure. The market experts expect market to be sideways in March because of election results and escalating crude prices and hence see no reason for a runaway.
