Equity and Balanced funds delivered a decent performance amid volatile markets. In the debt space both Long term and Short term continue to excel recording few decline.

Equity funds continued with the downtrend owing to grave market condition. Markets delivered lackluster performance with BSE benchmark shedding 66.60 points or 0.40%, to close at 16,479.58. Meanwhile, the NSE benchmark declined 25.15 points or 0.5% to 4,974.80.

Equity funds ended in a positive terrain in yesterdays volatile trading session. The BSE benchmark gained 81.63 points or 0.48%, to close at 16,912.71 while the NSE benchmark closed at 5,114.15, up 27.30 points or 0.54%.

The depreciating rupee and General Anti-Avoidance Rule( GAAR) issues have raised concerns about the performance of Indian Equity markets. In the yesterdays trading session, benchmark Sensex fell 320 points or 1.9% to close at 16831, and the 50-share Nifty closed at 5086, down 101 points.
