Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd is pinning hopes on winning an over-$3.5-billion sick fund tender in Germany next month to increase its revenue and profitability in the market there.

Saumen Chakraborty, CFO, Dr Reddy's sees his company's FY09 revenues up by 25% at Rs 6,250 crore, reports CNBC-TV18, quoting NewsWire18. He said that the Dow and BASF units will add Rs 220 crore to FY09 revenues. He feels that the pressure in Europe is still a worry. The company will end pact with German company Salutas in October, he said.

Saumen Chakraborty, CFO, Dr Reddy's Labs said that the Betapharm side of the business faced supply problems from Salutas and added that they have now reduced their dependence on Salutas. On R&D expenses incurred on Balaglitazone which is in phase III of clinical trials, he said they are being shared by the co-developers.

Dr Reddy's Laboratories has announced its second quarter numbers. It has posted consolidated net profit of Rs 267.2 crore for the quarter ended September 2007 as against Rs 279.8 crore in same quarter of last year (US GAAP).
