Retailers have more on their plates than just a fall in footfalls. A report by consultancy KPMG Advisory Services says that 60% of Indian retailers are struggling to pay debts or even meet supplier dues.

S Ramesh, ED of Kotak Investment Banking sees practical fund raising on the anvil. According to him, new QIP norm may trigger a fair bit of fund raising in next few months. Dr Srinivas Subramanian, Head of Investment Banking at Enam Securities said that SEBI move is good as it gives more freedom to approach market.
