Bajaj Finance Q4 net jumps 52% on higher interest income

Pune-based non-banking finance company Bajaj Finance, has reported a jump of 52% year-on-year in its fourth quarter (Jan-March) net profit at Rs 108 crore, driven by higher interest income. Net interest income or the difference between interest earned and paid out, climbed 39% to Rs 389 crore.

Bajaj Finance, the largest non-banking finance company in terms of consumer durable loans, is aiming to achieve a loan book of Rs 13,000 crore by the end of March, 2012. According to Rajeev Jain, CEO, Bajaj Finance, the strong loan growth in consumer durable and two wheeler segments supported its Q3 net profit to grow at 68% year-on-year.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Rajeev Jain, chief executive officer of Bajaj Finance says, the third quarter has been excellent. According to him, demand has slowed down. The overall competitive environment remains benign. That is helping us continue to hold our guidance of close to Rs 13,000 crore of AUM by end of Q4, he adds.
