By playing coy in the initial stages and forcing the Supreme Court to order it to reveal the names, the government has can now claim that its hand was forced by the courts; and, if any of the names now revealed embarrasses any political party, it will say we didnt do it, the court did.

What all this proves is that we are far from being a society driven by the rule of law where even conviction does not seem to matter to politicians and their fans. Rather, a legal conviction is seen as being the result of vendetta by politicians or other enemies.
