Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Chairman Nripendra Misra has said that the Indian telecom story is still strong but admits that growth has been hit by policy disputes and that the regulator must be given greater power. Misra also said that auction is the best way for issuing licences.

Nripendra Misra, Chairman of TRAI said the levy of administrative fee is not likely to depress the auction bid because there is enough competition. He feels the allocation of 3G spectrum must in some ways contribute to the country's revenue on a longer-term basis.
