Equity funds declined in the last trading session owing to weak performance of the markets. In the market session, the benchmark sensex shuts shop at 17301.91 down 16.90 points or 0.10% while Nifty closed at 5239.15 down 9.00 points or 0.17%.

The markets delivered mixed performance in previous trading session which led the equity funds to end in a positive terrain. The BSE benchmark closed 34.45 points or 1.21% up at17392.39. Meanwhile, the NSE benchmark ended up 10.30 or 0.19% at 5300.00

Equity funds ends in a negative terrain as markets closed with a 274-point cut on Monday, ahead of UP Assembly election results. The BSE benchmark fell 1.55% to close at 17,362.87 with 25 stocks in the red. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty dropped 79.05 points or 1.47% to 5,280.35.
