NAVs advance on hopes of possible rate cut by RBI

Equity Mutual funds ended in a green after delivering two days of poor performance. The session ended with BSE gaining 272 points or 1.63% while NSE benchmark was up by 84.30 points to close at 5,139.05.

The market soared high in previous trading session led by highest monthly inflow of foreign money since November 2010. The Sensex rose 330.25 points or 1.96%, to close at 17,193.55 and the Nifty moved up 111.95 points or 2.20%, to end at 5,199.25.

Equity diversified NAVs ended higher with advance:decline ratio of 152:61, as the markets closed marginally higher after witnessing volatility throughout the day. Shares of technology, oil & gas exploration, select financials and power stocks helped the markets.
