Analysts have cut Indias FY13 GDP forecast on concerns of a tough economy riding on weak market, sliding rupee and widening of fiscal deficit. Jahangir Aziz of JPMorgan explains that the Indias monetary and fiscal policies are extremely loose.

According to Jehangir Aziz of JPMorgan, RBI may lose the plot if it does not act aggressively at this point in time. Aziz said though 25 bps is a given, he is hopeful that RBI may deliver 50 bps rate hike.

The country's industrial output rose much faster than expected at 17.6% in April from 13.5% a month earlier led by growth across all sectors. CNBC-TV18 had expected IIP to come in at 14%.

Experts have come to the conclusion that a 14-15% nominal GDP growth may be assumed and that 5.5% fiscal deficit of this GDP would mean a fiscal deficit of about Rs 3.8 lakh crore.
