NAVs decline led by weak market condition

Equity funds declined in the last trading session owing to weak performance of the markets. In the market session, the benchmark sensex shuts shop at 17301.91 down 16.90 points or 0.10% while Nifty closed at 5239.15 down 9.00 points or 0.17%.

Equity funds succumb under market pressure leading posting negative returns. The Nifty fell 13 points or 0.25%, to close at 5189 while Sensex was down 20.62 points or 0.12%, to close at 17,130.67.

Equity funds delivered better performance than in the last few days on account of markets recovery. The 30-share Sensex rose 42.81 points, to close at 17,316.18 while the 50-share Nifty gained 17.80 points at 5,274.85, even after fall in global markets.

Equity funds snapped out of its gaining streak and ended in a negative zone ahead of Budget. The BSE Sensex fell 243.45 points or 1.36%, to close at 17,675.85. Meanwhile, the 50-share NSE Nifty shed 83.40 points or 1.53% to 5,380.50.
