Hyundai expects Sonata sales to rise with new model

Hyundai Motor India Ltd expects sales to jump with the launch of its premium sedan Sonata. The company has set a target to sell around 1,000 units a year of the model. This is a substantial jump from the numbers that it now sells.

H S Lheem, Managing Director, Hyundai Motor India, said, This year, our business plan was [sale of] 5.3 lakh units, combining together both the domestic and exports. For exports, our orders have seen a 25% drop. So I think we cannot meet our original business plan.
