NAVs slumped as markets end lower

Equity funds continue to slide owing to weak market outlook. In the market session, the Benchmark Sensex closed at 17151.19 down 150.72 points or 0.87% while the Nifty ended at 5188.40 down 50.75 points or 0.97%.

The equity funds delivered decent performance with very few declines registered in previous trading session. In the market space, the BSE rose 56.44 points, to close at 17,150.95 while the NSE went up 18.75 points to end at 5,226.20.

Equity funds recovered smartly in the previous trading session owing to bulk buying by the investors and traders. The BSE benchmark rose 285.37 points to close at 17,731.12 while the NSE benchmark moved up 94.30 points to close at 5,375.50.

Equity funds continued to close in negative terrain owing to weak market cues.The BSE benchmark fell 66.75 points or 0.37%, to close at 18,078.5. Meanwhile, the NSE benchmark dropped 22.05 points or 0.4% to 5,483.30.

After exhibiting stellar performance, market took a breather and ended low. Equity funds closed with mixed performance. The Sensex was down 48.42 points or 0.27% at 18153.99, and the Nifty was down 10 points or 0.18% at 5521.95.
