Today was an exceptionally quite day for the market. Who would have thought this is an expiry day? The Nifty has moved in a 20 point range virtually through this session. It has been a complete non event, said CNBC-TV18's managing editor Udayan Mukherjee.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty stayed listless since the early trade on expiry day. Hero Motocorp, GAIL and BPCL topped the selling list, falling 3% each while Jindal Steel was the top gainer among largecaps, gaining over 3%.
