With assembly polls less than a month away, political parties in Tamil Nadu are busy making promises to voters. And over the weekend, actor-turned politican Vijayakanth's DMDK released its latest promises.

The decision was taken nearly two weeks after announcing that he would go it alone in the polls. Vijayakanth is now choosing to sail with the People's Welfare Front - a coalition of parties that includes Vaiko's MDMK, the Left parties and Dalit party - the VCK.

Criticising BJP as "adamantine" for passing the bill in Lok Sabha, Karunanidhi alleged that it took away the rights of farmers and helped big corporates.
