Yes, walmart will give tough competition to India`s retailer including to Tesco and Carrefour. This will help consumers but will erode livelihood of consumers` family who are engaged in retail trade. Most of Indians will be at the mercy of employment with these giants. Happiness Quotient

with retail space, and called the whole thing "Citi Centre" and had parking space for maybe 500 cars. I visited the place first within months of opening. The shelves were full but there was no customers and the parking was empty. Carrefour was still alien for Omanis. Even after a year it was not popular. 4

dear jai, none of what is there in the link has got anything to do with fdi in retail. these are infrastructure that the country needs with or without fdi and walmart or carrefour or tesco will not be a participants in building these kind of infra and nor will the ambanis or biyanis or mittals
