Equity funds ends with positive gains as the markets rose on Monday after stronger than expected IIP output and CRR rate cut by RBI. The Sensex shuts shop at 17587.67 up 84.43 points or 0.48% and the Nifty closed at 5359.55 up 26.00 points or 0.49%.

Equity funds slumped after Indian market witnessed its first bad week in 2012. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 154.93 points or 0.86% to close at 17,923.57. Meanwhile, the 50-share NSE Nifty dropped 54 points or 0.98% to 5,429.30.

Equity funds continued to close in negative terrain owing to weak market cues.The BSE benchmark fell 66.75 points or 0.37%, to close at 18,078.5. Meanwhile, the NSE benchmark dropped 22.05 points or 0.4% to 5,483.30.
