India's economy will pick up this year, although more gradually than previously thought, while average inflation will be slower, giving the Reserve Bank room to cut rates by another 50 basis points during the fiscal year ending March 2013, a Reuters poll showed.

There was a marginal rise in hotel room prices in India, which went up by 2% on an average in the second half of 2011 compared to the same period last year, while globally the rates rose by 4%, according to a survey.
