ICICI Prudential MF unveils Capital Protection Series 13

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has launched Capital Protection Oriented Fund II - Series XIII - 12 Months Plan, that seek to protect capital by investing a portion of the portfolio in good quality debt securities and money market instruments and also to provide capital appreciation by investing the balance in equity and equity related securities.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty gained strength again, rising over 0.8% due to consistent buying interest in L&T and Infosys. ICICI Bank and SBI too played supportive role. Even the Indian rupee appreciated by 25 paise to 53.71 a dollar as against previous close of 53.97 a dollar.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty closed flat after shedding all its gains in the last couple of hours of trade due to weak European cues. It was looked like a nice rebound in the morning trade, with the Sensex rising more than 150 points led by appreciation in rupee.

Maruti Suzuki beat market expectations as fourth quarter net profit declined lower-than-expected 3% year-on-year to Rs 640 crore. However, the stock slipped over 2% on Monday morning as street didn't seem impressed over higher other income, a key reason for the earnings beat, and lower margins.
