Uttar Pradesh government todaysigned an MoU with the Netherlands for cooperation in areassuch as cleaning of water resources, including river Yamuma inAgra and solid waste management.The memorandum of understanding (MoU) which was signed byambassador of the Netherlands Alphonsus Stoelinga and chiefsecretary Deepak Singhal in the presence of Chief MinisterAkhilesh Yadav.The move aims at cooperation in areas like solid wastemanagement, urban development and infrastructure, watermanagement and supply, cleaning of water resources, lakes andponds, sewage treatment, transport management andinfrastructure, besides land reforms in 1,500 acre in theGanga basin in Kanpur.The Netherlands government will also assist in cleaningYamuna in Agra and sewage treatment there, a press releasesaid.The MoU which will remain operational for the next threeyears will also see cooperation in areas like development ofsmart cities, cycle track, power capability in industry,agriculture and dairy, the release said.The Chief Minister said that a skill development centerfor farmers will be set up in cooperation with theNetherlands..
