Won't raise prices after govt's new duty: Jindal Steel

The government has imposed an anti-dumping duty on some stainless steel product. This notice pertains to the import of stainless steel, cold rolled flat products of 600 millimetres and above. Jindal Stainless is the larger producer of 600 millimetres to 1,500 millimetre stainless steel having 65-70% of the market share.

Jindal Stainless' net sales were at Rs 1496.3 crore versus Rs 1432.4 crore (Up 4%). Mathur added that he was glad P Chidambaram announced certain measures for the steel industry as that will help them to further reduce cost and improve margins.
