Chat Transcript
guest: Hi, I wanted to start investments in stocks.........is it the right time to invest or maket id due for correction
Varun Goel: With the fall in Crude oil price, Four key macro parameters are turning positive for indian markets which are Current account deficit, Fiscal account deficit, Inflation & Interest rate. this should result in an improving growth profile for the country and hence better equity market returns
srikumar1976: At what level we can enter in ITC, HDFC Bank,Sun Pharma?
Varun Goel: Its best to do SIP kind of investments in good quality nifty companies
guest: When NMDC will start performing?
Varun Goel: Commodities have been correcting for last severl months due to the slowdown in Chinese growth. I would advise against buying commodity stocks in the short term
guest: What is the future of IOB in next 1 year?
Varun Goel: We are avoiding public sector banks due to significant stress on their balance sheets. There could be further NPA`s in next two quarters.
srikumar1976: Hi, I am holding GRUH Finance, Karur Vysya Bank. Can I HOLD these for long term?
Varun Goel: Housing finnace companies should do well in the falling interest rate scenario. One needs to be careful before investing in Banks/NBFCs which have high exposure to gold loans. If gold price falls further, these would show NPAs
satishkumarsang: sir, I have 150 shares of JP associated @80.10, since 4 months... should I exit or hold ? plz help me...
Varun Goel: Infrastructure companies and asset owners having significant amount of debt are facing pressure. We are not seeing any revival in infrastructure activity for now and would avoid leveraged infrastructure plays.
srikumar1976: Hi, please suggest 3-4 Quality stocks for long term investment?
Varun Goel: We like tier I private sector banking names, Pharma and FMCG ideas. You can choose nifty stocks in these sectors
syed_1986: sir, pls suggest best stocks to buy at current level. bought provogue @15.45 and bharti infratel @210 pls advice hold or sell.
Varun Goel: We like tier I private sector banking names, Pharma and FMCG ideas. You can choose nifty stocks in these sector I would avoid telecom tower and retail companies as these sectors are struggling in the current scenario
guest: Where do you see Tata Global in next 1 year?
Varun Goel: Consumption related stories are expected to do well. Tea prices have been coming off globally leading to margin expansion for most companies in the space.
guest: Hi Varun.. What is your opinion on ITC as a long term investment? say more than 5 years?
Varun Goel: Cigarettes is a great business to invest in. This business has high pricing power and is immune to current economic slowdown.
rsatish2013: At what levels the BSE Sensex will trade in the coming years(10 years from now)according to the current volatile markets. Will the Sensex anytime in the future touch atleast 30000 to 40000 levels?
Varun Goel: Markets normally have eight year cycles. We have spent the last 5 years in a very narrow range. Bounce back in economic growth will lead to return of 15-16% CAGR growth for indian equity markets which is the long term average
guest: Are you bullish or bearish for the next 3 - 6 months?
Varun Goel: Its difficult to take a three month view as Political instability is a key risk in the short term. As indian macros improve, we expect a good year for equities overall.
guest: I HAVE PURCHASED SPICEJET AT RS 36. WHAT SHOULD I DO
Varun Goel: Aviation space should see high growth ahead with lower crude oil prices and more M&A transactions
guest: Hi Varun, Do you see the deals around aviation section like the Airasia & Tata; Etihad & Jet ones helping the sector overall to perform well in the near future? Do you consider this as a positive news also for the other companies in this sector?
Varun Goel: We expect more deals in this sector as Indian carriers are looking to raise foreign capital. With the demise of KIngfisher, the competitive intensity has also come down
guest: JSWSTEEL
Varun Goel: Commodities have been correcting for last severl months due to the slowdown in Chinese growth. I would advise against buying commodity stocks in the short term
