University of CIE announce 2 more CIE centres in Mumbai

University of Cambridge International Examinations today announced two more CIE centres in Mumbai. The new schools affiliated to the world’s largest school education board are Sanjivani International School, Navi Mumbai, Billabong High School, Juhu and Pune based Daffodils International School. The addition of these schools further builds up to CIE’s strong foothold in Mumbai. The city has the highest number of CIE schools any where in the country.

 

Speaking on this development, Ian Chambers, Regional Manager – South Asia, University of Cambridge International Examinations said “We welcome the schools to the CIE system of education which is rated the best in the world. The CIE curriculum shall expose students to world class curriculum and learning processes enabling them to not just attain grades but also develop an aptitude for critical thinking and general awareness”. He added “India is an important market for us and our rate of growth here has been rapid. Mumbai, which has large educated population, has seen unprecedented growth in the demand for international school education. We are confident of registering similar growth in other markets over next few years”.

It catalyses professional excellences setting objectives for self assessment ensuring the joy of learning applicable to everyday situations thereby creating an aspiration to learn in students” explains Mrs. Kusum Kanwar, Head Teacher, Billabong High School, Malad

 

University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is the world’s largest provider of international qualifications for 14-19 year olds. CIE, which is a department under the University of Cambridge, is present in over 150 countries and its qualifications are recognized by colleges and universities across the world. In India over 200 schools are today affiliated to CIE and the number is steadily growing with the rise in International schools.

 

Speaking on the schools recent affiliation with CIE, Mrs. Anuradha J Desai, Chairperson of the Daffodil International School sounds out that “CIE offers the best international curriculum. The education system encourages the children to understand the subject and learn its applicability”. She added “Daffodils education standards are of highest quality and we have teachers who have good and rich experience in their respective fields and our motto is to live to the highest standards of quality education which CIE actually stands for”.

 

CIE offers qualifications such IGCSE, ‘O’ level, AS level and ‘A’ level in India. The international education board also offers Diploma courses for teachers and trainers. CIE qualifications are known to not just simply examine knowledge - assessment is also done in terms of application, analysis and evaluation. These are the skills that universities and employers across the world are increasingly demanding.
