The MobileStore sets up its 1000th store

The MobileStore, the one stop mobile solutions retail chain, announced that it has inaugurated its record 1000th store today. The MobileStore has set a new benchmark in Telecom Retail, by spreading its network to ensure the fastest and largest distribution spread across India.

 

By its aggressive network expansion, and roll-out of stores, The MobileStore has redefined Telecom Retailing with its first mover advantage, and has not just created an ‘Industry First’ in the sunrise Retail industry in India, but has also set a new milestone in the Global Retail industry.

 

The MobileStore with its presence in more than 160 cities across India currently, is also the largest organized retailer in terms of sheer penetration, and reach, and is aiming at a robust target of 2500 stores in 650 cities by 2010.

 

The MobileStore was launched in March 2007, in Delhi and ever since the Telecom Retail chain has grown at a fast pace, to emerge as one of the country’s largest one stop shop for all mobile and telecom related solutions.

 

The strategic intent of The MobileStore is to increase the presence of The MobileStore to Tier I and Tier II towns across India, so as to make mobile phones and mobile telecom solutions available at an affordable price, and to provide an enhanced shopping experience, to consumers across geographies and across all levels of the Socio-Economic Strata.

The MobileStore has identified cities and store locations across India, based on current and potential telecom penetration and consumer need. The presence of The MobileStore in these smaller towns will also help to generate employment opportunities to many people in small towns, who need not relocate to bigger cities and towns, to earn their living.

 

The MobileStore has envisaged stores in three formats: Large – 1000 -1500 square feet, Medium – 800 -1000 square feet and express / corners 200 - 400 square feet, along with shop-in-shop formats inside large malls, retail hyper markets and stores.

 

The MobileStore hosts a variety of brands like Nokia, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG, Sagem, HP, iMate, Dopod, HTC and Blackberry and Fly to name a few.

 

The MobileStore Ltd. has also tied up with all leading service operators including Airtel, Vodafone, BPL, Idea, MTNL, BSNL, Reliance, Tata Indicom and Reliance Mobile offering the consumer a wide bouquet of options. The stores are company owned and company run.
