IndiaHotelReview bags 'Best Travel Site' Web Award

IndiaHotelReview.com or IHR as popularly known, India’s leading online Travel community cum hotel booking portal just got the coveted award for the best travel website of 2008. The award is presented by MetrixLab a reputed Europe based global Online Market Research company.

According to Metrix lab, the criterion for selection was based on Content, Navigation, ease of use and Design along with the number of Votes received by the website from users across the globe.  IndiaHotelReview scored on both the fronts.

This was a tough fight considering the other players in the fray were some very prominent names like Expedia, MMT, Yatra, Air India, KLM, Tripadvisor, Travelocity, Indian Railways and IRCTC. 

A jubilant Ankit Rastogi  the co-founder and CEO of IHR said “We are really excited about the awards considering the previous winners were literally the who’s who of travel industry. Last yar YT won in the category of Best Website whereas the most popular website was MMT.

Attributing the outstanding achievement to a series of innovative practices Ankit said “we try to provide end to end solution to our valued customers. This includes a curios mix of Hotel bookings, packages and QNA (Question and answer). Our active QNA community comes with a very local flavour delving deeper beyond mere destination enquiries and actually solving Hotel booking queries of our clients.  This is something very unique”.

“There would be very few players in the fraternity to actualize the travel leads into genuine sales. The process is essentially cyclical, starting with displaying info, getting the leads, bookings, closing and then finally reviews which helps to capture fresh leads. Booking small hotels unlike five star property and convincing customers in face of thin margin is an operational challenge which we are doing very successfully” asserts Ankit.

On the concluding note he said IHR is guided by value addition and in future would strive to get more and more budget options to travelers even with modest means. A step in this direction is the Travel Guides for various cities which intends to be a virtual encyclopedia of sorts with a variety of traveling options.
