eBay India appoints Ambareesh Murty as Country Manager

‘eBay India (www.ebay.in), India’s leading online marketplace, announced the appointment of Ambareesh Murty as the Country Manager, eBay India with effect from March 11, 2008. In his new role, Ambareesh Murty will lead the eBay Portfolio in India, including the eBay India Marketplace and the eBay India Motors Marketplace.

Ambareesh Murty, Country Manager, eBay India said, “I am delighted to take on my new role and am looking forward to leading the strong eBay eCommerce business in India.”

Ambareesh has been with eBay since December 2005 and over the last two years has held a variety of senior executive roles at eBay India. His most recent role was as Director – Marketing & Operations, eBay India.

Rajan Mehra, the current Country Manager, eBay India will be transitioning the role to Ambareesh Murty over the next few months and will subsequently be pursuing his entrepreneurial interests in the venture capital industry.’
