BCPL targets financial closure by September

The first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) was held today in Guwahati. The AGM was attended by all the shareholders of the Company.

Prior to the AGM, a Board Meeting was also held wherein the project progress was reviewed. Board was also apprised on progress of the financial closure, being planned by September 2008.

Expressing its satisfaction on the project progress, Board expressed its gratitude to Government of India and Government of Assam for their support and guidance. It was also informed that the major construction activities at the project site shall commence soon after the monsoon.

The project is targeted for its mechanical completion in 60 months time from April 2007 i.e. April 2012.   

BCPL is a Joint Venture Company of GAIL (India) Limited, Government of Assam, Oil India Limited and Numaligarh Refinery Limited. BCPL is implementing Rs. 5,460 crore project to set up a 280,000 TPA petrochemical plant at Lepetkata in Distt. Dibrugarh, Assam.
