HCL Technologies, a leading global IT Services Provider, today announced signing a Global System Integration contract with VMware. This relationship combines industry-leading VMware virtualization product and services with HCL’s proven experience and globally benchmarked capabilities in enterprise IT infrastructure operations and transformation, thereby providing best-of-breed virtualization lifecycle services to global enterprises.

HCL’s relationship with VMware will further strengthen its expertise in information lifecycle management as well as desktop and datacenter Virtualization and Transformation Services to help enterprises reduce risk, cut costs and improve IT efficiency.

HCL provides customers with effective and efficient enablement and management of virtualized infrastructure across desktop, network, application and datacenter systems. HCL’s services cover the entire virtualization lifecycle, from assessment, architecture, and design to implementation, management and transformation. These services combined with VMware virtualization deliver optimal utilization of IT resources, improved IT efficiency, reduced complexity, faster application deployment and enhanced availability, reduced power consumption and waste, increased BCP and DR capability, greater flexibility of the complete IT environment, and lower overall operating costs.

“We welcome HCL into the VMware Global System Integrator program,” said Steve Houck, vice president, worldwide channels at VMware. “HCL’s expertise in systems integration complements VMware virtualization to provide datacenter solutions that help companies achieve huge savings in time, money, and power while becoming more flexible, efficient, and disaster-resilient. We look forward to providing joint solutions and services to meet HCL customers’ growing demand for VMware virtualization solutions.”

“Our goal is to simplify IT for companies whose priority is controlling costs while responding faster to their end-users requirements, " said Anant Gupta, President, HCL Technologies ISD. “To address these objectives, we at HCL leverage a best-of-breed suite of technologies, tools, processes and methodologies that enable our customers to accelerate virtualization, thereby allowing them maximum return on investment and greater efficiency in their IT environment. This Global System Integrator relationship with VMware will go a long way to further enhance our offerings in this space, as well as strengthen our skill and expertise base in this area. Our customers can also leverage this arrangement to source VMware licenses from HCL as part of our one-stop, end-to-end lifecycle services”.

HCL pioneered the concept of Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) with a co-sourcing model of engagement, which has added substantial value to customers including 70+ Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises.  HCL created a new market space which today has become a leading trend. HCL is widely acknowledged as a pioneer and a leader in global delivery of infrastructure management. The company was cited as a leader in Global IT Infrastructure Outsourcing in an independent vendor evaluation study by Forrester Wave TM, Q2, 2007 and No.1 ‘Specialty Offshore Infrastructure Services Provider’ by NeoIT and ‘Managing Offshore’ magazine.
