Entertainment Network (India) Limited (ENIL) today announced the appointment of Alok Purohit as Business Evangelist; Gautam Shahane as Head, Content Alliances; and Prashant Chacko as Cluster Head East all for Radio Mirchi.
Speaking on the new development, Nandan Srinath COO, ENIL said, "This is an important time for Radio Mirchi as we have recently launched new stations across the country and are now focussed on growing our listener base. We are confident that Alok Purohit, Gautam Shahane and Prashant Chacko will continue to lead Radio Mirchi from strength to strength. With their vast experience and technical expertise, they are sure to provide the leadership required to ensure that Mirchi fully capitalises on the tremendous growth that we anticipate in the radio industry over the next several years".
Alok Purohit joined Radio Mirchi in September 2001 as the Station Head of the first Mirchi station in Indore. After working at various positions at Radio Mirchi, his last assignment was as Regional Director of Central Region. In his new role as Business Evangelist, Alok will work alongside the Cluster Heads and Regional Directors to personally coach and guide operation heads in smaller and new markets with effect May 2008. He will achieve this through a personal engagement with the stations. He will work along side station heads to improve business metrics, processes and ensure a uniformity of the Mirchi culture across the network.
Gautam Shahane, joined Radio Mirchi in February 2002, as the Station Head for the Pune staion. Prior to his appointment as Head Content Alliances, he was engaged in Business Development for Radio Mirchi and was instrumental in tripling revenues for Mirchi Activation. As Head Content Alliances, Gautam will lead the team in conceptualizing and providing innovative radio content and other specifically created content to mobile and Internet platforms. He will work closely with Tapas Sen, CPO, Radio Mirchi and other Heads, allowing consumers to access Mirchi's compelling content in new and innovative ways.
A new member of the Radio Mirch family, Prashant Chacko replaces Sriram Kilambi as the Cluster Head for the Eastern region. He is responsible for the Kolkata Station with a supervisory role of the Patna Station. An MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, he has worked with BPL Mobile and Airtel covering the VAS domain in the line of music, m-commerce and messaging. His interest resides in technology and telecom space. His last assignment was with Airtel where he worked since 2004.
