EMCO registers 19% growth in sales, 19% in EBITDA

Highlights: Total sales for the quarter ended June 2008 stood at Rs. 183.35 Crores registering a growth of 19% over quarter ended June 2007. EBITDA for the quarter ended June 2008 stood at Rs. 23.90 Crores registering a growth of 19% over quarter ended June 2007. PAT for the quarter ended June 2008 stood at Rs.10.05 Crores registering a growth of 12% over quarter ended June 2007. EMCO has formed a joint venture with Edison Group through its wholly owned subsidiary, Emco Overseas Pte Ltd., Singapore by way of 51% participation in the equity of Emco Edison Transformer (Pty) Ltd incorporated in South Africa. This company will manufacture and market Transformers to cater to South Africa and neighbouring countries. Commenting on the Company’s performance and growth strategies, Mr. Rajesh Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of EMCO said, “The Company with its acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments has ensured its presence in all the major areas in Power Sector and has come a long way from being a product supplier to an end-to-end solution provider in the Power Transmission and Distribution Sector.” He added that the Company is geared to make better utilization of its increased manufacturing capacity and available resources to achieve current year’s growth target.
