Canara Bank is Title Sponsor for Bangalore Open 2008

The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association today announced that Canara Bank will be the title sponsor’s for the Bangalore Open 2008 WTA Tier II event scheduled between March 3-9, 2008, at the KSLTA Signature Kingfisher Tennis Centre, Cubbon Park, Bangalore.

The event organized by KSLTA is also supported by the Department of Youth Services, Government of Karnataka and the Sports Authority of Karnataka. The tournament will henceforth be called “Canara Bank Bangalore Open 2008”. The tournament has already grown in stature with the participation of Venus Williams, Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic of Serbia. Now, with one of India’s leading Bank’s support the event will be further gain in stature. Canara Bank with their recently acquired Brand Identity sees tennis as a means to reach out to the next generation.
